Join Linda Curran for the full one-on-one interview with trauma expert, Babette Rothschild. Author of more than a handful of books in the field of traumatic stress, Rothschild offers clinicians the benefit of her years in the field of Somatic Psychotherapy. With the emphasis on methods for Safety and Stabilization – including dual awareness and her patented “putting on the brakes” – Rothschild takes clinicians through the “how to” and “how not to” of trauma treatment. According to Rothschild, PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) is an indicator that the body and mind have not yet recognized that a traumatic event is over. As a result, the body’s nervous system continues to mobilize the muscles and other body systems of defense (fight/flight) and/or numbing (freeze). Rothschild explains the role of interoceptive and exteroceptive cues; instructs clinicians on teaching clients to accurately appraise his/her current (vs.past) danger; and explicates a coherent psychophysical theory of trauma and its sequellae.

Babette Rothschild, MSW, LCSW has been a practicing psychotherapist and body-psychotherapist since 1976 and a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1978. She is a member of the International and European Societies for Traumatic Stress Studies, the Association of Traumatic Stress. Babette has trained extensively in Transactional Analysis, Gestalt Therapy, Psychodrama, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and Somatic Experiencing, and is a certified Bodynamic Analyst and certified Radix Teacher. She has written extensively on trauma. What is Everything Else?
Everything Else is a product category on Amazon that is meant to be a catch-all for items that don’t fit into any other categories. Over time, as the Amazon catalog has grown and more specific product categories have been added, Everything Else has become less useful and more of a junkyard for cast off and forgotten listings.
Until recently, however.
Why are items listed in Everything Else when they shouldn’t be?
The answer to this is fairly simple. Some sellers are using Everything Else as an opportunity to get around Amazon’s gated category requirements. For example, DVDs with an MSRP of over $25 are now gated Selling certain products and bran… More and require permission to list. So we’ve seen some sellers create new listings in Everything Else to get around these requirements. We’ve noticed similar “workarounds” for other gated or restricted Selling certain product categorie… More categories as well.
Amazon doesn’t like this. It just makes the catalog more of a mess than it already is and ends up creating a worse customer experience.
